Red skin

During the first confinement, I painted individual portraits of members of an imaginary family that I called 'Rick's family' inspired by the universe of fashion designer Rick Owen.

I started with a photo of a beautiful African-American lady who inspired me with dignity and quiet strength. Choosing black and shades of red was an abstract choice.

The red face is a shaping of power, perhaps of anger or revolt.
