“Marked by human pathological anatomy, the sublime, the derisory and the fleeting of the human condition, my themes evoke survival, the states and attitudes of the living within a universe always in mutation thanks to the vital force.
The vital impulse is a philosophical principle expressed by Henri Bergson: a fundamental impulse that pushes us to overcome obstacles. In sculpture, my approach is experienced as a time without return, without possible repentance, as the Chinese scholars experienced in their painting, transposition and distortion of our perception of reality to transcend it by transforming it. I sculpt wood and stone, using direct carving. This ancestral technique is complemented by current practices, notably the assembly and addition of various materials. »
