Jame SAUREL is a painter, in the way I like to say. His work seems to unfold this thread which connects the very distant past to the present. The work touches our hearts, without cheating, without any imposture. Red is everywhere. But of these reds which are composed of pigments that nature offers to its sons as an inheritance; ocher of earth, brown of roots, powders of crushed stones. On these crimson vibrational fields in graphic superpositions, windows appear open onto what delimits the artist's secret garden. Art as a revealer of the sensitive. It is Africa that calls to us and speaks to us through the mystery of the painter's voice. This Africa which is never very far away and which offers a beautiful range of emotions, in the secret of a language with sincere intonations. In the body of the expression, there is sometimes a cave writing, a sort of alphabet from the depths of the being, which expresses a form of exile, as if to bring another look to the abstract environment which frames it. The hypnotic effect of color is materialized by the result of a tribute paid to ROTHKO - another painter of the red night - a few years earlier. As we carry our cross, Jame SAUREL takes color to the paroxysm of human limits. This frontal frankness brings us back to apprehending our vulnerability, faced with the dimension of the enigma that painting confers, through its different codes. It is not forbidden to lean beyond!
Literary abstraction would be the term that I would happily use to define this work which opens onto a real ideological approach: the non-tranquility of being and its positive consequences.

Jame SAUREL, the painter of values.
Connecting the work of a contemporary artist to an artistic movement is an exercise
hazardous. The artist evolves in his quest, his feeling, his expression, the absolute abandonment of
significant. Consequently, the value given to a work of art is not isolated but sealed to all those which preceded it, constructed, revealed like a filiation.
At Jame SAUREL, we talk more about values than gradients.
There are no gradients! For Jame SAUREL, painting, creative impatience in all its forms, is catharsis.
Finally, the appearance of Jame SAUREL's masks, mounted on a wooden frame or, perched on a metal rod, a frail support for a well-placed, balanced head which delivers in a plural coordinate a declined state of soul. Mask to laugh, have fun, disguise yourself, escape, perhaps escape
but never conceal. Dancing, joyful or haunting masks delivering a simple truth in its nudity. Free, penetrating masks that you cannot forget. Jame SAUREL is there, very present, in an almost raw art which resembles him, as he
loves him. An art finally liberated.
