During the first confinement, I painted individual portraits of members of an imaginary family that I called 'Rick's family' inspired by the universe of fashion designer Rick Owen.
In this family, Heaven is in my head, is the image of an absent father.
He is elsewhere, locked in his own nightmare, an archaic world where one does not express his feelings.
I started with an image of prisoners in their outfits.
The character is in tatters. He would like to free himself from his costume and reconstruct a face, a skin, a filter, a protection.
I wanted it to be an image in which you can project your despair, take it out to free yourself from it. An image that creates a dynamic of healing, of well-being.
