Luc Arrignon aka Lucky Loco is a French artist who lives and works in Fontenay-sous-Bois, France. Until 1995, the artist invested himself in hyperrealism which allowed him careful observation and rigorous execution. Spontaneity was reduced to the initial conception of his works. Passionate about writing, after a brief stint with lithography, Luc turned to calligraphy for the gestures it implies.

In the relationship between meaning and its forms, he decided to further explore form in 1998. It has not left him to this day. This is how he paints using “sur-calligraphy”. He works mainly in two media. The wood he sculpts into bas-relief by over-calligraphing it with his sculptures. Over the past 5 years, his sculpting work has taken off. Finally, the tarpaulin due to the installation of his workshop at the Fonderie, an artistic center in Fontenay-sous-Bois. His approach requires him to be able to rewrite hundreds, even thousands of times.

In addition to gouges, scissors, brushes, reeds, pens and inks, he uses a "Digital Piano", two large screens, an excellent computer equipped with good software, connected to a powerful "plotter" which allows him to print large formats on quality tarpaulins. Its work is therefore durable, resistant to UV, frost and rain. This is fireproof work. He creates unique digital prints on which he again uses ink, pencil and acrylic paint. Often, he surmounts some of them with carved wood and sometimes with mobile folding.
