We are in the tradition of couples who draw together. One thinks, amongst others, ofRobert and Aline Crumb or Alejandro and Pascale Jodosowski. It is the synergy within a couple that transforms the heavy reality of two egos into a shared vision. The transmutation remains mysterious; its intensity depends on emotional understanding, on the very fact that these two people have met and loved each other. It's a mutual understanding that defies comprehension. The drawings by 2 bear witness to this union. Our works are created without any initial intention, but through instinctual gestures, then gradually through judgement – an alternation between impulse and reflection.

There is no rivalry, only collaboration, and a shared wonder at recognizing meaning in the formlessness, in the flow of the pencil, in the organic impressions of the paper. Brigitte is the one who brings the animality, and who senses the meaning behind the forms and flow of JC’s drawing. We create a shared world that is poetic, psychedelic, intense, violent, sexual, organic, dynamic, and multi-faceted... a world that would be impossible without the level of relationship we have created between us over the years.
